On the edge of rolling countryside, the owners have created a few different outdoor seating areas for all guests to enjoy, Old Coal Pit is ideal for couples or friends wanting a getaway together but have their own separate accommodation.
Situated in the hamlet of Halnaker, just 3.5 miles from the historic cathedral city of Chichester on the edge of the South Downs National Park. There is plenty to do on the doorstep, why not pop along to Tinwood Estate Vineyard and enjoy the finest English sparkling wine, vineyard tours or sit and enjoy the views from the tasting room, just an 8-minute walk.
For those that enjoy walking, the Halnaker Windmill, is an iconic sussex landmark perched on Halnaker Hill, the trail begins right in front of the property. This really is a must-see landmark, providing stunning views across a patchwork of woods and farmlands. Perfect spot to get away from it all.
Within easy reach are beaches at West Wittering and Bognor Regis, 20 minutes’ drive, the picturesque sailing village of Bosham, Arundel with its historic castle, and antique shops. The Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust, Pagham Nature Reserve, the nautical city of Portsmouth with Spinnaker Tower, Gunwharf Quays with designer outlets and waterside dining are also within easy reach. Day trips to the Isle of Wight and HMS Victory and the Mary Rose can also be enjoyed.
