Though our house is on a tree-lined, quiet street, it is walking distance to lots of restaurants, luxury shopping and Whole Foods. While South Park is best known for its high-end mall, it has also developed into one of the largest business districts in the city. We do allow pets for a $200 fee. Please reach out if you have any questions. FIRE PLACE: The fireplace is unusable due to safety reasons. Guest Access: Guests will have access to the entire house. We have stocked the house with basic necessities and pantry items to make our guests feel comfortable. The Neighborhood: South Park is an upscale neighborhood in Charlotte and has now become one of the largest business districts in the city. There is tons to do! Our house is located in a great area because you can walk to practically everything! Here are some of our favorite places which are either within a 15 min walk or a 5 min drive. The shops at Piedmont row and Quail Corners have a summer concert series on certain Friday and Saturday evenings which are FREE! Many of the nearby restaurants offer happy hour specials (or 1/2 off wine nights) which is awesome especially since you can walk to most of the places. Our favorite wine bar is Cork Buzz. Very cute, great wines and the food is delicious (and its a 7 min walk from the house). If you want to get your nails done, Polished in Phillips Place is a solid option. $35 for a mani and pedi and they will even give you a glass of wine. Can't beat it. Philips place also has great boutique shops if you want something other than what is in the Mall. South Park Mall is the largest mall in North Carolina. The big department stores are Nordstrom, Belk, Macys, Neiman Marcus, Dillards. For a nice dinner out to celebrate a special occasion you can try Dogwoods for Southern Cuisine (7 min walk), The Palm for steak, or Baku for Japanese / Sushi. Baku is one of our favorites although it is very pricey. For a more economical (and very good) sushi place try Yama. Also next door to Yama is a fantastic Mediterranean cafeteria style restaurant called Yafo. Its a great lunch option - just be prepared to wait in line if you get there at noon. Best news is that there is a new star bucks opening up soon which is a 5 minute walk from the house! Getting Around: While there are tons of places you can walk to from our place, the public transportation system is lacking in Charlotte so a car is recommended if you want to get around other parts of the city. Other Things to Note: TNT Lawn Care comes once a week to service the yard. They usually come on Monday but the day can change based on weather or a scheduling conflict. Interaction with Guests: Our house has a lock box so I provide a code for guests so they can arrive and leave at their convenience. I am available if you have any questions or concerns and usually check in with guests with a text message to make sure everything is going well. Having lived in Charlotte for only 6 years, I am kind of a tourist myself and am continuously discovering this city. I am happy to share suggestions for venues or restaurants if you would like!
