Bedroom 3: With ¾ double bed. Bathroom: With roll-top bath, shower cubicle, toilet and heated towel rail.. Gas central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Welcome pack. Lawned garden with sitting-out area and garden furniture. Private parking for 5 cars. No smoking. Please note: There are 2 steps in the garden.. The Old Gas Works is the perfect holiday home for a group holiday with family or friends. The house has been sympathetically renovated and is beautifully and carefully equipped to a very high standard. There are three bedrooms, two of them have zip and link beds and the third bedroom has a small double bed. On the same floor level, there is a family bathroom which has a bathtub and a separate shower cubicle. The property has gas central heating, plenty of off-road parking, free Wi-Fi and a large garden. The village of Milverton is just a 5-minute walk away and is steeped in history. Most of the village is encompassed in a conservation area, and many of the houses are listed. The atmosphere in the main street is reminiscent of a Jane Austin novel. And if you are foodies, you couldn’t be better placed. There is an excellent village shop which sells high class local meat, organic veg, fresh fish and high quality frozen meals from the ‘Cooks’ range. It’s also an off-licence. Don’t want to cook? The Globe is just 150 yards down the road - a superb local pub which serves award-winning food and local beers. Wiveliscombe is about 4 miles away and boasts several privately owned shops selling quality local produce as well as an old fashioned hardware shop. The Old Court House, a Grade II listed building, forms a stunning setting for morning coffee or afternoon tea, surrounded by galleries festooned with Persian carpets, stunning fabrics and an eclectic mix of furniture, jewellery, handbags and gifts. Wellington is the next largest town, about 8 miles away. It has a growing reputation as a ’food town’ with several specialist shops selling local and organic produce, and three supermarkets. The Last Retort is less than 10 miles driving from Exmoor National Park in one direction and the Quantock Hills in the other. There are marvellous walks in all directions, all the way to the north Somerset coast, and you’ll often find there’s a good pint of beer to be had at one of the local pubs en route. On the north Somerset coast, about 20 miles away, you’ll find Blue Anchor Bay and a short distance away, Dunster and its National Trust Norman castle. If you like National Trust properties there are several in the area, including Montecute House, Fyne Court, Lytes Cary Manor and Knightshayes. Two of the bedrooms are zip and link beds which can be made up as singles or a double, please request at the time of booking. The third bedroom has a 3/4 sized double bed.
