As you enter the Asheville Lodge, you will immediately feel a true lodge experience. This real mountain house will captivate you with its soaring rafters and high ceilings, vaulted spaces and the warmth of wood throughout, this home is a treat!
The open kitchen, dining room, and great room, with stone wood burning fireplace, allow everyone ample space to gather and spend time together. The great room is filled with light from the expansive windows across the entire back of the home, which rise two stories in the great room. Three levels gives everyone the opportunity to go off and find a quiet corner if need be, or grab someone for a game of foosball or poker in the terrace level TV room.
Now, step out on to the expansive deck that runs the entire length of the home, and take in the long range mountain view that will entertain you your entire stay. There is a fire pit on the deck, so pull up a chair and watch the sunset, as a blanket of stars fill the sky. A hot jacuzzi/tub is also there for your pleasure.
You are just minutes from away from America's favorite scenic byway, The Blue Ridge Parkway, biking, hiking, white water rafting, rock climbing, kayaking, canoeing, zip lining, Segway tours... just about any outdoor activity! Or, take a quick ride to downtown Asheville to enjoy the first-rate restaurants, shopping, galleries, spas, and entertainment.
This private log home is 6 minutes, 4 miles, northeast of downtown Asheville, 25 minutes from Asheville Regional airport, 10 minutes to the gates of the Biltmore estate. Summary: The house was wonderful, clean and spacious for our group of 10 girlfriends! Mercedes was so easy to communicate with and quick to respond even before arriving. It makes for such a great experience when you know your host genuinely cares about and prioritizes your experience as a guest! We were all able to be in the kitchen area comfortably while prepping and cooking meals and fit around the tables to eat and play card games. The deck and view were great and we hope to be back sometime in the warmer months to enjoy it even more! The house is in a great location, easy and short drive to downtown Asheville, which was important to us! Advice to future guests- absolutely worth it to stay here! But I would suggest trying to get to the house for the first time before dark (her check in time allows for that!) but the street before the one the house is on has a number of large ruts and potholes and, like most mountain homes, the driveway is very steep. My truck was fine for it but I was glad to do the drive in the daylight first.
