Positive: The fire pit was great. There is a table in the deck that is lovely to use on a nice sunny day to sit around and have lunch. The games room was great. Access to the park at the back was excellent though there was no security on the back gate so anyone could come into the property. It is walking distance to the beach and the local cafe. It is located in a beautiful bush setting. It was great having two living areas in the house and two downstairs bathrooms. The kitchen was fairly well equipped with plates and cups and wine. Glasses made from plastic so they could be used outdoors without breaking. They were also glass and ceramic crockery, and it was very convenient having a dishwasher. The oven is a great size.
Negative: The beds were uncomfortable. We didnโ€™t sleep well as a result. We also expected to be able to use the swimming pool as it was advertised on booking.com to have a heated swimming pool. We discovered that the pool is not heated all year round as it is solar powered, and not heated during the winter months. This was quite a disappointment for us. Thereโ€™s no bathroom for the other two bedrooms upstairs other than the ensuite, which is attached to the master bedroom, so if other people sleeping upstairs want to use the bathroom, they have to come into the master bedroom to make use of the bathroom. The ensuite bathroom upstairs has a slope on the ceiling, and when using the toilet I hit my head on it Whilst the kitchen was fairly well-stocked, there was not enough cutlery for the number of people that the house accommodates especially if youโ€™re planning on eating in most meals which is quite likely given that the area (Somers) doesnโ€™t have any other restaurants other than the main cafe opposite the beach. The house was smaller than we expected it to be regarding ie the size of the living rooms downstairs. It felt a bit tight for us, there were 7 adults and 2 children. The house accommodates up to 10 people but if there were 10 adults staying there it wouldnโ€™t be enough space for everyone to sit together around the table or around the lounge room. When the seven of us wanted to sit in the second lounge area together, we had to bring in chairs from the dining room. The price for the property was quite high taking everything into account and considering that we were unable to use the swimming pool as expected ( . In the generic welcome letter they informed us to bring our own towels for the pool. This should have been customised telling us that the pool is not available in winter, rather than advising us to bring towels. The attention to detail in the communications from the owner was lacking and the advertising of the property was misleading.
