The rear garden has a lovely private patio leading to the lawn, and offers countryside views. On the doorstep, the village of Darley Dale offers good pubs, while a larger range of amenities is available in Matlock itself, or in Bakewell, both just a few miles away. The Heights of Abraham park offers a great day out for families and includes such exciting activities as show-caves, nature trails, water gardens and the Owl Maze, as well as magnificent views down the gorge during the cable car trip. The beginning of the High Peak Cycle Trail lies just to the south of the town whilst the National Tramway Museum at Crich is also worth a visit.
