The owners do live in the “main house” but they have access via an entirely separate entrance, and chances are you won’t run into them. The Neighborhood The neighborhood is teeming with amazing restaurants, lively and unique bars as well as a plethora of entertainment options - from live music, comedy, improv, and stage plays; those interested in the arts or just looking to see something new will not be disappointed! Aside from being so close to the United States Congress, Capitol Hill is the largest historic residential neighborhood in Washington DC, stretching easterly in front of the United States Capitol along wide avenues. It is one of the oldest residential communities in Washington, and, with roughly 35,000 people in just under 2 square miles (5 km2), it is also one of the most densely populated. You`re also a very short walk, bus, metro or Uber ride from a number of other neighborhoods not to be missed; including Union Market, Chinatown, Gallaudet University, and the Navy Yard. Getting Around We`re smack dab in the middle of 3 convenient metro stations; you`ll be able to take advantage of everything the city has to offer! The closest metro station is Stadium Armory Metro, and is a 13 minute stroll from the home. The Eastern Market (Orange, Silver & Blue lines) metro and the Potomac Avenue Metro station are just a bit further from the home on foot, but are easily accessible. Prefer something more active? Most central Washington DC features are all within walking, you can walk to the United States Capitol steps in just over 25 minutes (though convenient buses + metro can take you there directly as well) . Several Capital Bikeshares are located short strolls away; they offer bike rentals by the hour at excellent rates - a truly awesome way to explore the city, the Potomac Tow Path, the Anacostia Waterfront, and nearby Virginia and Maryland! .
