Chantry Cottage is a charming 18th century cottage on the beautiful Newby Hall & Gardens country estate www.newbyhall.org . The cottage has far-reaching views towards Ripon Cathedral and The Yorkshire Dales and overlooks the ancient site of a moated medieval manor house. The views can be enjoyed from the cottage and its pretty enclosed garden and private dining/bbq terrace.
Nestled on the banks of the River Ure, guests can enjoy fishing, cycling, extensive walks through,woodland, parkland, open fields along the riverbank and around the sailing lake straight from the doorstep.
The cottage has been newly renovated to retain its traditional cosy charm, blending antiques with fresh interiors and modern appliances, offering guests the perfect rural escape. Chantry Cottage has three tastefully furnished bedrooms include a master bedroom with king-size bed and en-suite shower room, a pretty, single bedroom with garden views and a double with views towards the Yorkshire Dales as well as a house bathroom with washbasin, loo and shower over the bath. The cosy snug, and a spacious sitting room, both furnished with log burners and smart tv’s, make this cottage perfect for families and larger groups. There is also a utility room with washing machine, dryer and downstairs loo.
Outdoors, there is a private enclosed garden with a furnished terrace directly outside the kitchen for al fresco dining, or you can load up a tray and follow the path from the garden gate to a private bbq terrace built into the garden walls which offers spectacular unspoilt views of the Yorkshire Dales and Ripon Cathedral.
Guest can also relax in the walled garden, kick a ball around in the paddock and enjoy superb walks through woodland, open fields, along the river, around the lake through parkland all from the doorstep.
