2 Bedroom Cottage in Fishguard, Pontfaen
Sitting on the side of the Preseli hills four miles inland from Newport the cottage is the smaller of two self-catering units on our old hill farm. Set half a mile from an unclassified road this is the perfect place to explore the magic of the hills while escaping the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
Our upside down cottage has an open plan kitchen, lounge, dining room upstairs and two bedrooms, shower room and utility downstairs. You have your own enclosed garden with a small fire pit, barbecue and pub style table where you can relax and enjoy the views.
With a bridleway running across the farm and access directly on to the hills you have lots to explore. Go down in to the Gwaun Valley through ancient bluebell woods then up the other side to Carn Ingli and sea views. Go high up onto the Golden way which spans the length of the Preseli hills and offers spectacular views in all directions. Take a walk to Waun Mawr, now thought to be the site of one of the original stones at Stone Henge. We are a good base for cycling / mountain biking too, with miles of quiet country lanes and bridleways easily accessible from your door. And if you want to jump in the car and go further afield, there are beaches, castles, horse riding and a reconstructed Iron-Age fort all in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.
The river Gwaun springs about a mile out on the hills and crosses the farm. We have a wealth of flora and fauna to discover and with little light pollution you can spend an evening watching the constellations and spot the odd shooting star.
Note, Access to the farm is across a bridleway / farm track which is also used by walkers, runners, horse riders and mountain bikes. Please respect a maximum speed of 5mph, Thank you.
