Positive: The bed was very comfortable and the towels and bath mat were lovely and soft. The room was well proportioned for 2 people. We had a parking space. It was a great location to walk to Lichfield cathedral and town. John was pleasant and informative. Nice shower and room overall. Would have left better review if it weren't for the traffic noise. Spoiled our stay.
Negative: The noise from the A51 was loud and constant all night and day. We had room 4 and it was right next to it. We kept the windows shut but it was still very loud. We did not sleep at all on our first night which we found very disappointing. It was extremely annoying. So much so in fact, that we checked out a night early, which is a 1st for us. We had planned to stay 2 nights. As one of the most important things for us when going away for a break is to get a good nights sleep. When we arrived we asked John, who was there to meet us with the keys, if the traffic died down at all later. 'I presume so' was his reply. So we asked if it would be possible to be moved to a quieter room and we were told 'not for the money you have paid', 'no-one else has ever mentioned it' and 'well I can't move the building'!! Which i think is totally unacceptable customer service. There were no curtains only slatted blinds so the light streamed in. It wasn't an apartment it was a hotel room with a microwave. No air conditioning and as already said above we had to keep the windows shut because of the constant traffic noise. Not bothered about a refund would have paid ยฃ50 for the noise to STOP!!!!
Summary: Bad outweighed the good. Checked out early. Too noisy.
