Positive: This is a lovely, spacious house and we had a very comfortable stay. There is a well stocked kitchen with plenty of fridge and storage space. There were lots of mugs and cutlery- it's great not to have to wash up every time you want a cup of tea. I think the only thing the kitchen didn't have was a pizza cutter. We were very grateful for the groceries that were left for us. There is also a selection of spices and useful things for cooking with left by previous occupants. All the bedrooms are a decent size with plenty of hanging space and drawers. The beds are comfortable. I appreciated the reading lights on both sides- don't always get that. 3 bathrooms between 4 of us was a complete luxury. There's lots of hot water. The towels are luxurious- like big fluffy hotel ones. Downstairs the two sitting rooms gave us space, although the TV couch needed practise to get up from. Sadly the weather wasn't nice enough to sit outside much. There's a nice little garden with a climbing frame for small children. The spare keys were very useful when our party wanted to do different things. The house is well set up for children staying- there's plastic plates and cutlery, a selection of kids toys and useful things like steps in the bathroom and a washing machine and drying rack.
Negative: There were a few little niggles. The surfaces, beds and bathrooms were clean, but there was a collection of spiders webs ( yes I know you get a lot of spiders in the country but these webs looked to have been there a while especially on the stairs) the kitchen had some corners which needed attention. The ensuite and main bathroom showers didn't fit a 6ft man and the main bathroom tap leaks and sprays water everywhere when you try to fill the bath. The flooring upstairs is a smart matting which looks good and I expect is hard-wearing but it is rough on your feet. I was glad I had flip flops with me. Also useful for people to know that there is no shop or pub in the village and I would say having a car is essential for staying there. All minor things which didn't stop us from enjoying our stay
