Summary: This experience at Halcyon House was a little disappointing. We had informed them it was a special occasion but nonetheless were given an unsatisfactory room. ( number 202). We had upgraded from garden view to a pool view which was not visible due to a solid concrete balcony wall about 150 cm high and in the corner of the building. I am 148 cm tall ! My husband complained but was told the hotel was full. They did move us the next day to a very nice room, but when only staying for 2 nights, it was a very disappointing experience. Breakfast in the Paper Daisy restaurant was very good as was dinner on the birthday night. They did try to make amends by giving us a bottle of red wine which we appreciated. The decor of this Hotel is really lovely,but also expensive, so it's a pity room 202 is unacceptable. We did hear others had previously complained.
