The Space:
Take the steps up to Stag Lodge Retreat, enter through the side door, and you’ll be in the open plan living, kitchen and dining area. Featuring an exposed timber walls and traditional beams, the space has plenty of character. The perfect place to relax during your stay, you can unwind on the comfy leather settee or Queen Anne leather armchair and enjoy quality time with your loved ones in front of the log burner style fireplace.
In keeping with the entirety of Stag Lodge Retreat, the kitchen features striking wooden walls and features granite work surfaces and modern appliances so you can prepare meals easily.
Ideal for socialising, the dining area includes a round wooden table and four padded chairs to ensure you can dine in comfort. If you are looking for an easy evening of good food and drinks you can simply walk through the private gate and straight into The Stables Restaurant, where they serve an extensive menus of freshly prepared meals.
The lodge boasts two tranquil bedrooms. The master bedroom features a comfortable double bed with plush bedding and premium bed linens to ensure you have a great night’s sleep. Perfect for children and teenagers, the second bedroom has single bunk beds.
Head to the family bathroom and you’ll find a walk-in shower, WC and basin. Featuring a clash of wood shades and a small cupboard for storage, this space is warming and well equipped.
Set within several acres of land, the views surrounding Stag Lodge Retreat to do die for. The outside space at the lodge is gated making it perfectly suited to children and dogs. You’ll find patio furniture, along with the added bonuses of a cedar wood sauna, hot tub, barbeque facilities and a firepit which are all exclusively for guest use.
Host & Stay are committed to our owners that their homes are protected during guest bookings. For this reason, we require all our guests to transfer a Damage Deposit (refundable, subject to an administration charge) or, to purchase an Accidental Damage Waiver which will cover you for up to £500.00 of accidental damage during your stay.
Guest Access:
Guests have access to the full lodge. The keys to Stag Lodge Retreat are accessed via a key safe box, and full details will be provided prior to your stay.
Private on-site parking is available for up to three vehicles.
Up to two well behaved dogs are welcome to stay at Stag Lodge Retreat per reservation.
The Neighborhood:
Stag Lodge Retreat is located on the outskirts of Whitby where you’ll find restaurants, shops and pubs in abundance. The Stables Restuarant can be accessed just moments from the Lodge, where you can enjoy freshly prepared meals and a wide selection of drinks.
The lodge is located on the West side of Whitby. It’s on the West side where you’ll be able to revel in the nostalgic seaside charm - head to the arcades or explore the beautiful, blue flag West Cliff Beach which is lined with idyllic beach huts.
Venture over the swing bridge and you’ll reach the East bank. This side of Whitby is full of narrow, medieval streets dotted with boutiques, pubs and fish restaurants. Climb the famous 199 steps up to the Church of Saint Mary. You can also discover the renowned ruined Whitby Abbey, which was the inspiration for Bram Stoker’s gothic novel ‘Dracula’.
Step outside of Whitby and you’ll uncover a haven of woodland and moorland, some of which can be explored just a short distance away from Stag Lodge Retreat. Whitby forms part of the North York Moors National Park so it’s the perfect place for long walks.
Getting Around:
You’ll find restaurants, pubs and shops just in a short drive or journey on the park & ride from Stag Lodge Retreat. The Stables restaurant and bar is within a 10-minute walk from the lodge.
Whitby train station is located in the centre of town so villages and towns along the North Yorkshire coast can easily be reached via rail. There’s also a taxi rank in close proximity to the train station.
There are plenty of bus routes throughout Whitby. Hop on the X4 and you can visit beautiful coastal villages like Sandsend, Runswick Bay and Staithes. The X93 travels along the coast to Scarborough. The 95 route features plenty of quaint villages, such as Grosmont and Lealholm.
