Positive: The location is great for travelling and exploring the local area by car and if you like walking. Clean pool, in a beautiful setting.
Negative: It feels like it’s seen better days and now needs some love! The furniture is dirty and uncomfortable in the lounge, needs a couple of decent armchairs adding instead of dining chairs to sit on. There are 2 gallery bedrooms and not 1, so the 2nd over looks the 1st and there’s no privacy…this isn’t clear in the description and meant we didn’t have 3 separate/private rooms. You also have to walk through the main bedroom to access the back bedroom! The wooden 4 poster is very noisy/creaky. Our bedsheets were clean but stained too (not pleasant). We booked for 3 adults and a child and arrived to find only 2 double beds made up with no other linen for us to make another bed up. The showers didn’t drain and we had to request a plumber for fear of flooding the bathroom upstairs. The dishwasher was broken and although we informed the caretaker he didn’t send anyone in the week we were there (it felt like he already knew but didn’t want to repair it). The crockery was chipped and basic too. The property was advertised with bicycles but these were nowhere to be seen, nor did we meet the owners to ask them. This place has seen better days and currently feels unloved sadly. The pool time restrictions were challenging to use too due to the strange times but the pool was lovely and clean (because the owners use it too). The price is high for the standard you receive sadly. Also Bellvilla were not an easy company to deal with…their communication is poor and incorrect. We arranged extra towel hire for the pool before we went and were told we needed to pay when there but the caretaker said this was not possible and we didn’t get pool towels! I never usually critique a place or company but this needed highlighting for future renters because it was such a disappointment for the money we paid…we could’ve stayed in a nice hotel!
Summary: The area is beautiful and great for exploring but the property has sadly seen better days and needs a fresh eye over it
