The Space: Welcome to Corragaun, a rural expanse along the Wild Atlantic Way on the West Coast of Ireland. This stunning seaside house is surrounded by 12 acres of private land, offers panoramic views across the Atlantic Ocean and is a 5-minute walk to Silver Strand, one of Ireland’s most isolated sandy beaches. The house is beautifully furnished and offers 5-bedrooms that can accommodate up to 11 guests, making it the perfect place for a large family or group of friends looking to enjoy an idyllic holiday by the ocean. The surrounding area offers a wide range of activities to enjoy throughout your stay including surfing, kite surfing, beach camping, mountain-walking and fishing. Surfing is particularly popular in the area and beaches, such as Carrowniski Strand, rent out surfboards and wet-suits onsite. You can also charter a boat to go deep sea fishing. The area is renowned for hiking and mountain-walking on Mweelrea and Croagh Patrick, the latter of which is the site of an annual monastery pilgrimage. For those who want to venture further afield, the islands of Inis Turk, Inis Boffin and Inis Clare offer the chance to explore the isolated communities at the outermost reaches of Ireland’s West. The closest pub is a 10-minute drive away. There is also a wide selection of pubs, bars and restaurants in Louisburgh (20-minute drive away) and Westport (40-minute drive away.) Bedrooms & Bathrooms Master Bedroom with a super king-size bed, a walk-in wardrobe and an en-suite bathroom fitted with a shower. Second Bedroom with 2 single beds and the option for a third bed. Third Bedroom with 2 single beds and the option for a third bed. There is a shared bathroom between the second and third bedrooms that is fitted with a bathtub and an over-bath shower. Fourth bedroom with a queen-size bed. There is an additional bathroom next to the fourth bedroom that is fitted with a cabin shower. Fifth balcony bedroom with a single bed. Getting Around: There are 3 ways to reach the property: 1) Fly to Knock West Ireland Airport, hire a car upon arrival and make the 2-hour drive to the house. 2) Drive to Holyhead in Wales, take the ferry across to Dun Laoghaire, then drive across Ireland to the West. Once at Westport, it's a 30-minute drive to Louisburgh and from there it's a 10-minute drive to the house. 3) Fly to Dublin, then catch a train to Westport, the closest large town to the house and from there you can take a 45-minute taxi ride. Other Things to Note: A House Manager will be onsite to welcome you upon arrival and give you a tour of the property. You will arrive to a lovely welcome hamper with lots of goodies to enjoy throughout your stay! There will also be a house manual at your disposal should you require any assistance or information concerning the house and the surrounding area. The turf for the burning stoves will be provided and stored in the house. Linen, towels and bathroom essentials are all provided, as is a hairdryer. There is WiFi throughout the entire property.
