Summary: It is a beautiful condo, with very high ceilings and incredible views from the living room/kitchen/dining combo and master bedroom. The condo is on the 14th floor, just below the penthouses so that might explain the high ceilings. The mbr is located behind a large sliding door separating it from the living room, so it was part of the living space if opened and private when closed. When walking into the condo with the living room wall open to the bedroom you are treated to a view from three of the four walls of the condo, just spectacular. Both bathrooms were average sized but in perfect condition. There were a few minor maintenance items but management took care of these when reported. The location on the Malecon was good, just a short taxi ride to the Historic Center and a little farther to the Marina and north. If youre a local the taxi ride to Centro Historico is about $3.00US but if you dont speak Spanish the driver will get you for 200 pesos or about $10. So I would ask before getting in the taxi and they would do it for 100 -150 pesos. (about $5-$7 US). Many times I was happy to just pay the 10 bucks, these are hard working people and I was honored to through a bit more in their hands, but let them know I realized the game. It was also real nice to have a Starbucks and an OXXO convenience store right outside this building. Very convenient. Suffice to say, I would stay there again in a heartbeat, I actually made inquiries to see if any units were available for sale. The only issue is noise. There are beach palapa restaurants across the street which are known for loud music and the malecon can be very loud. While we were there the noise and traffic died out around midnight but Im told during other times of the year it can go all night. The building is not new so it has single pane glass, unlike the new buildings that have glass that knocks down almost all sound. I took the back bedroom which was quieter than the front and gave my Son the front bedroom with the awesome view. He slept well and I actually fell asleep to the sound of the waves and enjoyed hearing the laughter and vibrancy of the malecon, until it became quiet at midnight. I have visited the beaches of Spain a few times, Paris once and much of the Caribbean and can confidently say this was one of the best condos Ive rented when the view, cleanliness, quality of finishes and location are all weighed. Thanks again to those who maintain the property.
