Negative: Another one of those 'no expense spent' tourist trap rooms that litter the old tottering unkept-up palazzi around Stazione Termini. (God knows how miserable it must be to be a local living next door with a warren of unloved Airbnb money-spinner rooms as neighbours). The room was big and perfectly serviceable and Omar employed to welcome guests was delightful. All rooms in the zone cost an arm and a leg so this one's price is perfectly reasonable. It was more or less the only option for 150 a night, as cheap as one could find. It feels as if the BnB rooms mafia has taken over in Rome and is squeezing the last possible value out of these buildings while spending nothing on condominium upkeep. Eventually the whole caboodle will become unserviceable. But I imagine it is impossible to manage any building works in such huge condominiums with so many owners. These once beautifully built solid old palazzi have underpinned the slack building management and let owners get away without a general collapse of the infrastructure, for hundreds of years. It all looks like they are on the verge of giving up.
