Nice holiday home privately located in Frankanäs 100 m from Lake Åsnen in Tingsryd municipality. The cottage is beautifully situated surrounded by nauture. Outside the house there is a gravelled patio with garden furniture and barbecue. Upstairs, only 1 bedroom is furnished. The kitchen is simple with a stove (2 plates + small oven). The TV is only a Chromecast TV
You have your own jetty with a rowing boat (13 feet) down by Åsnen, which is a good fishing lake with a good stock of especially pike, pikeperch and perch. There is a fishing ban on pikeperch during the month of May. The easiest way to buy a fishing license is on Ifiske. Åsnen is not just a fishing paradise. In and around Åsnen, there is several bird colonies, such as eagles, great bustards, ospreys and peregrine falcons.
Åsnens National Park offers a miniature Sweden for those who are interested in nature, hiking and bird watching. At Getnö farm there are many activities and nice trails if you want to hike.
In Ryd, which is 9 km away, there is Norraryd's bathing place, which is a nice bathing place with a sandy beach. There is also an ICA store, bank and a nice hardware store that sells fishing gear etc. Lake Mien also has the bathing place Laxasand at Grönteboda. Långe Nabbe is scenic to walk out on. At Mien there is another nice bathing place in Midingsbråte which is located at the southern end of the lake.
Urshult is known for its apple orchards and there are many flea markets and second-hand shops here. Drive out on Sirkön, which is very beautiful. In Tingsryd you have a good lunch at restaurant Mårdlycke with a view of Lake Tiken. Here at Tingsryd Resort, which is a family campsite, there is also a tennis court and mini golf. Starting in Tingsryd a family business that started in 1944 is worth a visit. Try their famous shrimp sandwich.
If you want to drive down to the sea, it is not far to Karlshamn. Here you eat and enjoy the food and Vägga fishing harbor's picturesque marina directly by the pier.
