Located in the peaceful and lesser touristed Carneros region, the house is wonderfully situated for exploring both the Napa and Sonoma valleys and sits between the Napa Sonoma Wildlife Refuge (great hiking!) and the scenic Napa River. You are 15 minutes to downtown Napa and 20 minutes to Sonoma Plaza, but a world away from the crowds, tour buses and traffic jams. Less than ten minutes to multiple world class wineries (five minutes drive to Etude and Bouchaine). The restaurants and spa of the Carneros Inn are under 10 minutes away, and the new Stanley Lane Auberge Resort is a pleasant bike ride away. Enjoy panoramic views over the Napa River to the East and watch the water birds on the protected wetlands to the West. Watch boats cruise the river from your private dock, enjoy a glass of local wine from the expansive river view deck or relax by the fire pit. Ideal for the wine enthusiast, sailor, birdwatcher, bicyclist, runner, walker, fisherman or outdoors enthusiast.
The home features four bedrooms including two huge primary suites with king beds. Both primary suites overlook the Napa River and the Eastern hills, and each have access to a large balcony. There is also a queen bedroom with views of the river and the Eastern hills. The final bedroom, outfitted with new twin beds and mattresses, has a view to the west and overlooks the wildlife sanctuary. This can be made available as a single king sized bed. There are three bathrooms all with full sized bathtubs. The home was extensively refurbished in 2018/2019 with all new flooring, appliances, fixtures, window treatments and furnishings. All bedrooms and public spaces feature an abundance of windows to appreciate the spectacular views and provides for a sun drenched interior. The home was recently decorated in a cheerful beach/farm/modern mix, with the majority of pieces by higher end manufacturers like Serena & Lily and RH. The kitchen is fully stocked with plenty of cookware, coffee maker, blender, toaster, Cuisinart, etc. etc. There are washer/dryer pairs on both the first and second floors.
A large deck spans the entire back of the house and has comfortable lounge seating with a large fire pit, an umbrella, a propane barbecue grill and an outdoor dining table which seats 10. The back yard has a lawn and a concrete patio Beyond that is the gangway to a 38' newly surfaced deepwater dock from which you can fish or dock your boat.
There is a hiking trail across the street from the house at the Napa/Sonoma Wildlife Refuge. From the kitchen window it is common to observe white pelicans, snowy egrets, great blue herons, and tundra swans in the wildlife sanctuary waters to the west. We have also seen seals in the river and you can fish from the dock for sturgeon and bass. Hiking and biking are popular activities in our neighborhood, because of the quiet, flat streets and trails as well as the attraction of the wildlife sanctuary. To the east, the river is an object of endless fascination as the tide ebbs and flows. Small fishing boats and grand yachts alike parade for your entertainment with vineyards and the eastern hills in the far distance. Our neighborhood is a quiet and peaceful mix of houses lining the river, some new and modern and others small and rustic, all residents sharing a love of the outdoors.
We are close to all of the delights of the world famous Carneros region. Being closer to San Francisco Bay the weather is known to be more moderate than that further up valley, with cooling breezes that are ideal for Chardonnay and Pinot Noir varietals. Our home is a six to 12 minute drive to attractions such as Etude Winery, Calmere Estate Winery, Poseidon Vineyards, Bouchaine Winery, Ceja Winery, Donum Estate Winery, Domaine Carneros champagne cellars, the Di Rosa Art Preserve, Stanly Lane Auberge Resort, and The Carneros Inn & Spa with its fabulous restaurants Farm and the BoonFly Cafe.
