Positive: This is a small property which has pretty much most things you'd need for a stay in Playa Flamenca on a budget. The kitchen was well equipped, there was a pool (no grass, just tiled, but a good size for swimming) and the location was good - 15 minute walk to Zenia Boulevard and a 5 min walk to the citrus centre. A few good restaurants just down the road (Da Mario) so it was pretty central. Noel, our host, was exceptional, she could not have been more welcoming or helpful - such an asset and I compliment her on her customer service. The place was immaculately clean and tidy. Noel was flexible with our checkout and we were very grateful for this.
Negative: It is difficult to find, as the pin you get given takes you to C. Niagara 11. We got chatting to the lady at number 11 and really thought we'd been scammed. However, it turns out that this house is at number 50, which is directly behind (two rows of houses) number 11, so all was well. We had to wait a little while for Noel to come to get us, which was more than made up for by her buying us some coffee, sugar, milk and bottled water as a little welcome gift. There is milk/sugar/seasonings etc at the apartment in any case, and a little supermarket at the Citrus Centre for any immediate needs. The main thing about this apartment is that the bed was so uncomfortable I ended up on the sofa for both nights, trying and failing to sleep. To be fair, I do struggle with any firm bed so perhaps most people might be ok with it, but I found the pain in my hips (side sleeper) awful. The pillows were also like rocks, so I did better trying to sleep sitting up downstairs. There are maintenance issues here and to her credit, Noel tried to do her best to resolve them. The downstairs A/C did not work for the time we were there, the shower bracket was broken (and fixed!), the shower curtain kept falling down (fixed!), and there was only half a shower door in the downstairs (resolved with a new shower curtain). There was no hot water to the upstairs basin so I boiled the kettle and took upstairs so I could wash my face. The shower, once fixed, was ok, although the hot water takes AGES to come through. If you are booking in summer I would check that the air con has been properly fixed as you will need it. There was lovely outside space, but little furniture to enjoy it.
