2 Bedroom House in Hunter's Home, Knysna
The very spacious and modern accommodation (150m2) has two bedrooms, a bathroom (toilet, bath and shower), a separate toilet, a cozy living room, a spacious kitchen with bar and a modern dining area. All living rooms are larger than average and very comfortably furnished. The covered veranda allows you to sit outside in any weather to let your gaze wander into the distance. Enjoy the sunset, the wonderful view of Pezula and the beautiful garden.
Two bikes are available for use. The property is cleaned once a week for longer stays, and sheets, towels and bath towels are also changed weekly.
The apartment is ideal for a family with 2 children or for two to four adults. The large bathroom is integrated in the parents' room. The construction of another bathroom for bedroom 2 is in the planning. At the moment the bathroom has to be shared. A separate toilet is located in the entrance.
Garden:
The accommodation is embedded in a large and unique garden. Many indigenous plants provide shade, flowers and fruits offer food for insects and birds. We offer a harmonious base from which our guests can explore the area and the legendary scenery of Knysna or relax after a busy day. Armadillo`s garden is a real little paradise!
Pool and wooden deck
Do you want to unwind your soul in the hammock, sunbathe in our loungers in the garden oasis, or may it be a refreshment in the pool? All this is for you to enjoy. The water is cleaned in an environmentally friendly and clean way. A special device uses salt to produce natural chlorine from electrolysis, because bathing is even more fun without chemical additives.
Lapa & Grill
The traditional Lapa (a small African shelter with a thatched roof) is equipped with a picnic table and is perfect for an aperitif, a barbecue or a "Schlummi". Under the lapa you will find (in addition to the charcoal grills on the private studio terraces) nor a Weber gas grill with all the necessary accessories for a delicious barbecue.
Fireplace:
What's more romantic than gathering by the fire in the evening after an eventful day, telling stories and looking at the clear starry sky? The fireplace is equipped with plenty of seating and is available to our guests at all times. Of course, we ask our guests, before leaving to make sure that the fire or embers pose no danger.
On the Garden Route, it is best to drive your own car. But there are also cheap shuttle services in Knysna. The Armadillo is located in a quiet and leafy residential area called Hunters Home, just a 1-minute drive from the lagoon and 5 minutes from the city center, where you will find the picturesque Waterfront with its many delicious restaurants, boutiques and boat terminals. On foot you can easily reach the lagoon or the Knysna Golf course. Also you can see along the lagoon very many joggers and cyclists. If you follow Georg Rex Drive in a southerly direction, after three minutes you will reach the impressive "Knysna Heads", where you can find recommended restaurants. Other good restaurants are located near our accommodation. We've put together a detailed restaurant recommendation list for our guests, which is ready for you in your studio.
To bathe:
In the lagoon on Leisure Island (about 5 minutes away) children and non-swimmers can splashing and bathing wonderfully and safely. The water is warmer than in the ocean and the tides less strong. For water sports on the lagoon there are various providers in Knysna: sailing and boat trips, diving, water skiing, windsurfing, fishing, etc. Further information can be found on the website of Knysna Tourism.
In particular, the beautiful sandy beach between Brenton -on-Sea and Buffels Bay is suitable for long beach walks and of course for swimming in the ocean.
Golf:
For golfers, Knysna and the surrounding area is a true paradise. There are over 10 visitor-friendly and highly rated golf courses between Mossel Bay and Plettenberg Bay. All these courses offer different courses for all levels.
