The Solitude experience is really something that you must experience before you can understand how wonderful it. Nestled in the heart of beautiful Big Cottonwood Canyon is a charming little European style village. Set inside of the village are little restaurants, a small ice skating rink, a beautiful club with heated pool and hot tubs, and tons and tons of snow. Right next to the village is Apex and Sunrise lifts that you take you up the mountain to some world class skiing and powder.
Completely renovated. In 2019 we upgraded our appliances and bunk beds. Secured WiFIi and HD Televisions. Our unit is in the Powderhorn Lodge, facing the inside of the courtyard, giving you peace and quiet throughout your stay. The unit is One Bedroom + Den and is 759 square feet. It has a King Bed in the bedroom, a bunk bed in the den, and two full size couch beds in the living room (5 beds total) It sleeps up to 6 people. We also have a 40' High Def Television (1080p) in the Living Room, a 40' High Def TV in the bedroom, both connected to a 100+ channel DirecTV package which includes HBO. There is also a 27 inch High Def Internet TV that has streaming Net-Flix available in the den. We have a secure WiFi router just for you inside the condo for great internet reception. In the Kitchen we have all the items you'd find in your home (i.e. pots, pans, coffee maker, microwave, etc. even a crock pot.
Solitude's European Village is a great resort that has a limited number of rooms available in the Forest Service's Protected area of the Cottonwood Canyons in Utah. The Cottonwood Canyons are world renowned for it's continual 500 annual inches of fresh powder that falls year after year. Brighton (featured in a few Warren Miller movies) is 2 miles up the canyon and you can purchase a Solitude/Brighton lift pass which allows access to both resorts.
Solitude's skiing is excellent. My favorite part about it is enjoying the same powder you see at Alta/Snowbird but you have hardly any lift lines. As a local Utah skier, it has become my favorite resort because of this. Most Utah locals know that the Cottonwood Canyons, because of their location as the forefront Mountains in the Rockies, get significantly more snow than other Utah and Colorado resorts. These Mountains rise above the Salt Lake Valley floor in an extreme display of vertical change. They pierce the clouds, draining them of their precious, light powder and then allow them to float over to Park City, Deer Valley, and the Canyons where they deposit half of the amount of snow.
