Positive: Very friendly and generous hosts. I checked in around 1 PM, and the host, Mr. Ivan's wife, is a very kind and pleasant lady. The house is located at the top of a steep climb of stairs, and by the time I reached it, I was exhausted and dying for a glass of water. The first thing the host did was give me a bottle of cold water to drink, and she checked me in. About 10 minutes later, she came back with a handful of blueberries, which really surprised me. I got to meet Mr. Ivan later that day, but due to my schedule, we couldn't spend much time together. The next morning, I had to leave early to catch my bus to Ohrid, and Mr. Ivan, without any hesitation, dropped me off at the bus station for free. On the way, he gave me a brief tour of various areas of Skopje, showing me different buildings, including the embassies of various countries. Being a biker, I could see that he had a passion for traveling and a keen interest in talking about his city, ensuring I had a great experience. Having traveled quite a lot, this isn't something I've experienced from other hosts. 11/10 for these two superhosts!
Negative: The climb up the stairs was exhausting. There is an overrated and expensive restaurant, Dva Elena, quite close to the apartment. I dined there, and I wish I hadn't. It’s ridiculously expensive while offering a mediocre experience—or maybe it's just me, as I can't really appreciate overly fancy dining. I wish I had spent more time with Mr. Ivan; it could have been a very informative interaction.
