Villa Misicoro is surrounded by greenery on the outskirts of Ispica and just a short drive from the most beautiful beaches of crystal-clear water and fine sand in Sicily, along the 12 km of coastline that extends from Santa Maria del Focallo to Porto Ulisse. Within a radius of 30 km are numerous historical localities and nature reserves to visit, as well as typical Sicilian food and wine delicacies to discover and savour. If you prefer to spend more time in the villa, there will be no lack of opportunities for recreation for adults and children between the large swimming pool, the tennis court, the little wooden house for children and the 5,000 sq m park. The complex consists of two buildings: the main villa, fully air-conditioned, which includes five bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms and a bright living area with direct access to the patio, and the cozy Pool House, located near the pool: a large room set up with a sitting area, a dining table and a well-equipped kitchen for sharing moments of relaxation and fun. For outdoor meals you can opt for the large dining table immersed in the greenery of the park. Villa Misicoro lies in a privileged position, the heart of numerous centres of great historical, archaeological and naturalistic interest which can be reached in just over half an hour. A visit to the Baroque towns of the Val di Noto is a must, as well as to Noto, Scicli, Modica and Ragusa, Syracuse and Ortigia, to the Cava d'Ispica, a river valley of clear rock with remains of prehistoric settlements, to the Vendicari Nature Reserve, with its long beaches of fine sand and marshes where flamingos and herons, among other birds, migrate, or to discover unique flora and fauna and historical relics such as the Torre Sveva, a fortified 15th century Swabian tower, and those of the Greek city of Eloro.
Interior:
Villa Misicoro is composed of two separate structures. The MAIN VILLA has two floors connected by an internal staircase. On the ground floor is an open-plan area with sitting room, dining room, kitchen and a small study corner. Also on this floor are three bedrooms with en-suite bathroom with shower, two of which have direct access to the relaxation area under the portico overlooking the pool. The floor is completed by a guest bathroom. On the first floor are another two bedrooms with en-suite bathroom, one with shower and one with tub. Both bedrooms have their own living area with access to the shared terrace. The laundry room is located outside in an annex adjacent to the villa. In a slightly sloping area, near the swimming pool which is about 150 m from the main house, is the POOL HOUSE, a spacious, brightly-lit room with fully-equipped kitchen and living room, where the whole crowd can gather to cook, have a meal and relax. Attached to the Pool House is a bathroom with shower and a changing room.
Park:
The park covers approximately 5000 sq m and is shaded by majestic pine trees. Surrounding the house is the lawn dotted with various plants and trees, an attractive area with children's games and a little wooden house for them. The furnished portico that extends along two sides of the villa is the ideal place for relaxing while an outdoor dining area, complete with barbecue, is set up near the pool.Please notice that photos are taken in spring, therefore flower blossoming, and the colours of the gardens' grass could be different at the moment of your arrival at the villa.
Swimming Pool:
The pool area is located at a slightly lower level than the ground floor which is about 100 m away and is reached via 4 easy steps or a ramp in the lawn. In the immediate vicinity is the Pool House, complete with bathroom with shower. The pool area is surrounded by lawn with sunbeds and umbrellas. The swimming pool, in the shape of a cloverleaf with diving board and lined with ceramic tiles, measures approximately 15 x 15 m with the depth varying from 0,60 to 2,40 m; it has salt purification and two metal ladders for access to the water. On the tiled perimeter near the pool is a dining table seating 10 where the mobile barbecue can be set up. In the shade of a large carob tree is the outdoor hot and cold-water shower. The swimming pool is open from the last Saturday of April to the first Saturday of October.
Tennis-court:
The cement tennis court is a few steps from the pool. It is well-lit at night. The villa does not provide tennis rackets.
