We are a very relaxed family that loves living at the beach. 2 adults (Terry and Kim), our 15 year old son, Nick, a little jack Russell dog (Buster) that thinks he is a Great Dane, a big, goofy rescue dog , Rusty, that is very friendly and smiles, a cockatiel, Tortilla, that talks a lot, a rescue Indian Ringneck parrot, George that is very funny and another Ring Neck Parrot, Chiquito, that runs the show. We take the dogs for a walk on the beach in the mornings, so you will hear pattering feet running down the stairs to the house. We have a private sleep out on the back deck with its own toilet and shower, queen size bed, kitchenette (hot plate, fridge, jug, toaster, etc.)
There are stairs that lead up the sleep out, house and deck. We live on a reserve so we have no neighbours out on the back deck. The back deck has a veggie garden, huge table with bench seating, bbq and great place to watch the tui's in the flax, our resident Pukeho family and all the nature around us.
Our house is a 5 minute walk to beautiful Cooks Beach beach. Our "town centre" has a dairy, take away, restaurant, liquor store and hardware. We even had a pedestrian crossing by the town centre that no one uses!
Hot Water Beach, where you dig a hole and have a beach spa in the sand, and Cathedral Cove, one of the most photographed beaches in NZ are only a 10 minute drive. Ferry Landing has the passenger only ferry to Whitianga.
We have some great local places to eat and lots to see
Our newly remodelled cottage has no neighbours, only birds chattering and the sound of the waves breaking on the shore. Private and secluded, perfect place for a get away
